Web App
Easy, works in the browser. Use if your photos are on Google Photos of flickr. The downside it produces lower quality images if you upload, but you don't have to install anything.
Desktop software
Download and install. Ultra-fast image handling with great quality. Can generate local exports, so you don't have to upload your photos, just present them from your PC. Altough you still need internet for the map tiles.

You need a Google account to publish your galleries online. Your photos will end up on Google servers (GCP). Everything is public now, and you can not delete things easily, keep these in mind.
